GSA contractors may be authorized by COs to buy off of Schedule contracts

Federal contracting officers are now authorized to give all General Services Administration (GSA) contractors’ access to the Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) and GSA Global Supply Programs when deemed appropriate for fulfillment of their agency requirements.  The FSS Program is inclusive of those Schedules managed by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

This is the most recent acquisition flexibility created within the Multiple Award Schedule program to arrive at a total acquisition solution. GSA’s updated ordering guide explains the features and benefits of the FAR 51 deviation to both federal customers and the contractor community. The revised ordering guide is completely web-
based to allow the user to quickly link to references and citations throughout the guide. In addition, the guide contains a process map that displays the interactions involved for each participant and provides an explanation of steps.
