The Contracting Education Academy at Georgia Tech kicks-off the first week of intensive training on the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012.
The instruction covers:
- identification of the basic principles of federal government contracting,
- access to online resources (FAR, DFARS, and DFARS PGI), and
- the location, citation, and interpretation of information in the FAR and DFARS.
This course is the first in a series of four, one-week courses on the FAR. Together, all four weeks of instruction are known as CON 090 – Fundamentals of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. The course employs limited lecture, research-intensive, exercised-based curriculum. Students will analyze contracting business scenarios developed through research of the FAR and its supplements. Given various contracting scenarios, students will locate, interpret, and apply the acquisition regulations applicable to federal agencies. Students will become familiar with the entire FAR, parts 1 through 53.
